"Atlas Calling" Film Release

Award winning Bahamian filmmaker and underwater photographer Eddy Raphael has released his next short film based on the ocean, called ATLAS CALLING. The film was released for World Oceans Day.

Featured in the film is Rosie Poirier,  a Canadian student who came to The Bahamas to help with the Young Marine Explorers (YME) and to help educate young Bahamians about ocean conservation.

"I helped to make this film to convey an urgent message, that our oceans sustain all human life," said Rosie, "...giving the planet more than half of its oxygen, it gives us a climate we can live in, beauty, inspiration, new medicines, recreation and food, and it needs our help."

"This film conveys a message, but it also acts as an invitation. An invitation for those who hear the call to join us;  learn about the great importance of our oceans discover what’s happening in the oceans help protect the ocean realm and all its creatures join us - and stand together to save the living oceans that sustain us.

"I believe passionately that change can be achieved and that education is the key to this change. Education of our children, ourselves, and our future leaders."
